Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice as Al Nassr defeated Damac 4-1 on the final matchday of the Saudi Pro League season, ending a wait for official silverware in Saudi Arabia that had stretched across more than three years.
A Collective Performance Built for One Destination
Al Nassr dominated proceedings at Al-Awwal Park from the outset. Joao Felix's out-swinging corner picked out Sadio Mané on the edge of the six-yard box in the 34th minute, and the Senegal international twisted to head the ball into the net, breaking a deadlock that had resisted pressure from Ronaldo and others in the early exchanges. Kingsley Coman added a second before Ronaldo completed the scoring with a brace, while Morlaye Sylla's penalty for Damac proved only a brief interruption to a result that never seriously looked in doubt after the hour mark.
Ronaldo's first goal, a free-kick in the mid-60s, drew particular attention. He had gone largely unnoticed for much of the match before scoring a spectacular free-kick from what seemed like a tight angle, before completing the scoring with a second effort shortly before being substituted off. Al Nassr finished the season on 86 points, two clear of rivals Al Hilal, who beat Al Fayha 1-0 but were left to settle for second place.

The Mission Jorge Jesus Declared in July
The outcome was consistent with what Al Nassr's manager had stated as his purpose from the moment he accepted the job. "When I received the invitation from [Al Nassr CEO José] Semedo and Cris [Cristiano Ronaldo], I only accepted this challenge to help Cris win titles in Saudi Arabia," Jorge Jesus said ahead of Thursday's game. The directness of that framing made the season unusual: a manager hired by a club's fiercest rivals the previous year, now publicly treating a single player's trophy ambitions as the organising logic of his tenure.
Jesus had guided Al Hilal to the domestic treble in the 2023–24 campaign before making the move across Riyadh to Al Nassr. After Thursday's final whistle, Jesus confirmed he was leaving the club immediately, telling Canal GOAT: "For me, it's over. It's the last game I worked for Al-Nassr. I'm leaving, that's the point. It's over." He added: "This is a victory for everyone, and especially for Cris, who hadn't yet won any titles in Saudi Arabia."

What the Title Ends — and What Follows
The championship brings an end to a six-year drought without a league title for Ronaldo, who joined Al Nassr in late 2022. His only previous tournament success since arriving was the Arab Club Champions Cup in 2023, considered an unofficial competition, and the frustration had been compounded by four final defeats. The title is Al Nassr's 11th in their history and the club's first league crown since 2018–19.
Al Nassr's title-winning campaign was built on volume in attack — they finished as the division's top scorers with 91 goals across 38 matches, winning 28 games and conceding just 28. Ronaldo himself had scored 100 league goals for Al Nassr over the course of his time at the club entering the final day, a personal marker that had arrived without the team trophy to match it.
Portugal's captain enters the 2026 World Cup in form and carrying silverware, with the tournament widely expected to be the final chapter of his international career.
