Code inside an official update to Samsung's Galaxy Wearable app has locked in the names of the company's next three wearables, while a separate pricing leak details how much more each Galaxy Watch9 and Watch Ultra2 configuration will cost in Europe.

Galaxy Wearable App Code Renames Buds Able to Galaxy Able

Version 2.2.70.26060861 of the Galaxy Wearable app, along with an earlier build numbered 2.2.68.26010761, contains strings naming the Galaxy Watch9, Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Able, according to the app code discovery. The listing is managed through a system plugin identified as com.samsung.accessory.ablemgr, which points to a dedicated companion device rather than a placeholder string.

The Able name itself has shifted. Earlier firmware teardowns in April referred to the product as "Galaxy Buds Able," and some reporting at the time speculated the eventual retail name might drop further still, to "Galaxy Buds On." The newer app code instead settles on "Galaxy Able," cutting the "Buds" prefix entirely — the confirmed device names describe this as a deliberate branding change rather than an incidental naming inconsistency between builds.

That distinction matters for how much weight to put on this leak. App-string and plugin-name leaks tend to hold up better than icon or asset teardowns, because they come from functional code Samsung has to ship rather than placeholder art. The Galaxy Able report notes the watch names were corroborated by matching screenshots from a separate leaker, which is the kind of cross-source agreement this category of leak doesn't always get.

The European pricing leak puts the 40mm Bluetooth-only Watch9 at €409 (up €40), the 40mm LTE model at €459 (up €50), the 44mm Bluetooth model at €439 (up €30), and the 44mm LTE model at €489 (up €30). The Watch Ultra2, sold only with LTE, is expected at €749, up €50 from the original Ultra.

The wearable leak roundup and related coverage put the likely US increase at around $50 across the board, but that figure is an estimate extrapolated from the European numbers rather than a confirmed US price sheet, since euro-to-dollar list prices don't convert directly.

Neither leak addresses whether the design language itself changes; past rumors point to similar cases for both watches, with the Ultra2 possibly gaining a rotating bezel that some Watch8 owners have wanted.

What the App Leak Still Doesn't Confirm About Galaxy Able's Audio Hardware

The naming and pricing leaks rest on relatively solid ground: app code, corroborated screenshots, and a pricing source with a track record on Samsung's other 2026 devices. The audio technology inside Galaxy Able rests on thinner evidence. The bone-conduction claim traces back to a single outlet's reporting from earlier in the year and hasn't been independently corroborated by a second source, even as the naming itself has since been confirmed through app code. Visual leaks of the device's icon, meanwhile, suggest a clip-on, open-ear form similar to the Sony LinkBuds Clip or Huawei FreeClip 2 — a shape that's just as compatible with conventional micro-drivers as it is with bone conduction.

That gap matters for how readers should treat the "Able" name itself. The confirmed part is that Samsung is building a clip-on, open-ear product and has settled on branding that drops "Buds" entirely, which app code now backs up. The unconfirmed part is the specific transducer technology inside it, which still depends on a single source's earlier reporting rather than anything in the recent app-code leak. Samsung's July 22 Unpacked event in London is the point at which this and the rest of the leaked specifications should move from rumor to confirmed product detail.
